A02: Three-Dimensional Study of the Flight of a Tennis Ball

ABSTRACT: The article examines the three-dimensional motion of a tennis ball with the Magnus Effect taken into account. A system of six nonlinear differential equations is constructed. A formula for the drag moment of the air medium is proposed. Cardan angles are used. A program was created in the area of the MatLab package, with the help of which the highly nonlinear system of differential equations is numerically solved. The laws of motion, velocities, and accelerations for the six coordinates, as well as the projections of the trajectory to the three coordinate planes, were obtained. The article has a scientific-applied and educational character.
